Rosie Sharon Mays was born February 11th, 1964 to Nannie Beatrice and Reverend Otis Moore Jr. in Trimble, Tennessee. As the sixth of nine children, she provided constant support and love for each of her siblings. A day never passed without the sound of Rosie's laughter.
At the age of five the Moore family moved to Racine, Wisconsin. It was this relocation that sealed her fate as a die-hard Greenbay Packers fan. She attended Garfield Elementary School, Jerstad Algerholm Junior High School, and then graduated from William Horlick High School in May of 1982 where she was a member of both the cheerleading and basketball teams. She received her Associates Degrees from Massey Business College in May of 1986 and Denver Business College in June of 1990. Along with these numerous accomplishments, Rosie was also a certified cosmetologist.
During her youth, Rosie spent summers vacationing in Tennessee with relatives. On one such trip, Rosie met the love of her life, William Warner Mays II (Bill). In him she found her true soulmate. After he moved to Georgia for college, she went to visit for two weeks and never returned home. They were married December 24th, 1985.
A year after their marriage, Rosie gave birth to their first child, William Warner III on July 2nd, 1986 in Atlanta, Georgia. Although they struggled, she would later look upon these times as some of the happiest moments in her life. When Bill was transferred to Arizona for a new position, she picked up and created a new home for her family in the southwest. Three years after their initial move, she gave birth to their second child, Jazmine Janét on September 27th, 1991. In the following years, Rosie and her family lived joyfully in the home they all built together. Although Rosie didn't think her life could get any sweeter, she received yet another gift of childbirth with her youngest son, Benjamin Otis on July 27th, 2004.
She is survived by William Warner Mays II (husband). She also leaves behind her three beautiful children: William Warner Mays III (son), Jazmine Janét Mays (daughter), Benjamin Otis Mays (son).
In addition, she leaves to cherish her memory a loving mother, Nannie Beatrice Moore; six sisters, Denise Watson, Towarnia Christopher, Johnnie Mai Donaldson, Audrey Belcher, Leatha Moore, and Nannette Walker; a brother, Ronald Watson (Joy); and a host of family and friends.
She is proceeded in death by her own child, Megan Mays; a devoted father, Reverend Otis Moore Jr.; a brother, Norvell Watson; a father-in-law, William Warner Mays; a mother-in-law, Sue D. Mays; and her maternal and paternal grandparents.
