Shirley Joyce Barrett

Shirley Joyce Barrett, a resident of Chandler, Arizona, passed away on September 4, 2025, at the age of 87. Born in Celina, Texas, on September 10, 1937, Shirley lived a life full of love, family, and dedication.

In her early years, Shirley found joy in the simple pleasures of life, which she carried with her throughout her journey. She married Walter F. Barrett on September 22, 1962, in Amarillo, Texas, and together they built a family that was the center of her world. Shirley is survived by her children: Mike (Julie) Barrett, Dixie (Tom) White, Eddie (Donna) Barrett, Tim (Vicky) Barrett, Ernie (Jodie) Perrin, Randy Perrin, Paul (Cathy) Perrin, and Carrie Webb. Her legacy extends to 33 grandchildren, 83 great-grandchildren, and 9 siblings, each of whom she held dear.

Shirley dedicated 20 years of her life to her work at Walmart, a role she loved deeply. Outside of work, she found happiness in trips to Dollar Tree and nurturing her garden, a testament to her love for growing things. Her affection for animals, especially birds, was well known, and she was a family-oriented woman whose warmth and kindness touched all who knew her.

A visitation will be held at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, located at 10940 East Chandler Heights Rd, Chandler, AZ 85248, on September 9, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. Following the visitation, a funeral service will take place at the same location from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.

Shirley's life was a testament to her love for her family and her community. She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
