Tim Cagle was born on December 1st, 1949 in Racine WI. He attended the Racine Unified School District schools and graduated in 1968 from J.I. Case High School with its’ first graduating class. Tim attended Carthage College where he met the love of his life, Faye. The two were married May 6th 1972. Tim always had a love of airplanes which led him to his Associates Degree in Airline Management.
In 1975 Tim and Faye welcomed their son Josh. Being a husband and father truly allowed Tim to understand the depth of the human heart. Throughout Tim’s life, Family was always at the center. Living in Racine there was always family around or a function to attend. Whether it was holiday gatherings, bowling leagues, trivial pursuit, or Friday night movies, Tim lived his life to the fullest.
Professionally, Tim explored many different occupations. He worked for Walker Forge, a steel foundry, until he was laid off in 1982. He then entered the wonderful world of wastewater treatment at the Racine Wastewater Treatment Plant. Tim worked at the plant until he left Wisconsin in 1988. Upon moving to Arizona Tim was finally able to enter the airline industry with a security position at America West Airlines. Throughout the years Tim moved around and rose through the ranks of America West, and into the transition to US Airways. In 2013 Tim retired from the Executive Liaison position in the Customer Relations Department after 25 years of service.
Tim didn’t just have co-workers, they were truly his second family. Even throughout his retirement and his medical struggles, he still stayed close with that core group of people that made him smile every day at the office. The same is true of his friends. Once he laughed with you, and he always laughed, you were always on his heart and a part of his prayers.
Travel was extremely important to Tim and who he was. He made many trips back to Wisconsin to reconnect with friends and family. He also took every opportunity to travel with Faye. From weekend hiking trips, week long driving excursions, cruising through some amazing ports, and even a European adventure, Tim made a point to keep moving. Throughout all of his travels and amazing destinations, it was with his family that he truly was content. As he experienced a place or event on his travels, his first thought was how he could share that with everyone he loved…and share he did!
Tim was proud of many things in his life. He was proud of his wife for all of her accomplishments and for putting up with him for over 40 years. He was proud of his son for becoming the man that he knew he could be. And he was supremely proud of his grandsons and all of their many adventures. Tim was also proud of himself. He was proud of the fact that he was the greatest grandpa EVER! The last two woodworking projects that Tim was able to complete were a rocking horse for Grayson and the Jeep bed for Jameson. His blood, sweat, tears, and love, went into every cut with the saw, every nail, and every coat of paint. The look of pride upon the delivery of these heirlooms will never be forgotten by all of those present. Tim’s heart was full, and he shared that with everyone he met.
Unfortunately Tim was diagnosed with Parkinson’s Disease in 2008. As the years progressed and the disease took its toll, Tim kept his positive attitude and high spirits. In the past few years Tim slowly regressed to the point that he was placed in a skilled nursing facility to best provide him with care. November 18th, 2016, at 7:08 PM, Tim passed from this world. He was surrounded by his family and all of your love and went peacefully into his eternal rest.
