Travis J. White was born on June 6, 1966, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to loving parents John W. White and Susan E. Roberts. He passed away on January 20, 2025, in Chandler, Arizona, at the age of 58, surrounded by his family.
His love for baseball began at an early age, playing under the guidance of his father, who coached his teams for many years. With a natural talent and passion for the game, Travis built a strong foundation in teamwork and dedication.
Travis attended Olympus High School and graduated in the 1984 class. Following high school, Travis pursued higher education at DeVry University in Phoenix, Arizona, where he earned his degree in computer science. His technical expertise led him to a fulfilling career as a technical engineer. He began working at Honeywell and later at Dana Corporation in Salt Lake City. When Dana Corporation was acquired by Intel, Travis dedicated the next 30 years to the company, relocating to Oregon for work before eventually returning to Phoenix, a place he loved for its sun and warm weather. Throughout his career, he traveled extensively to areas such as Germany, Japan, China, and the Philippines. Although he enjoyed the adventures and experiences that came with his travels, his heart was always at home. No matter how far his work took him, he cherished returning to the familiar comforts of home with his wife and beloved dogs, Sammy and Dean.
Travis met the love of his life, Debra K. White, through his younger sister, Vicki. They dated for a few years before marrying on May 16th, 1998, and building a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories. Travis and Debra shared a love for adventure, often taking cruises and trips to the beach to enjoy the ocean. Whether exploring new destinations or simply relaxing by the water, they enjoyed each other's company and treasured the time spent together.
A man of large stature and quiet demeanor, Travis possessed incredible intelligence, a gentle heart, and a sharp wit. He had a remarkable sense of humor and loved to tease those closest to him, always bringing a smile to their faces. Travis found solace and happiness in nature, whether relaxing at the beach or retreating to his secluded mountain property, where he enjoyed peaceful moments away from the hustle and bustle of life. His loyal companion, his dog Sammy, was always by his side, a constant source of comfort and companionship.
Travis was preceded in death by his father, John W. White; his beloved sister, Vicki W. Sheets; father-in-law Stanley Whitfield Sr; step-father-in-law James L. Bartlett; his brother-in-laws, Stanley Whitfield and Alan Tarasiewicz. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who survive him, including his devoted wife, Debra K. Roberts (Jim); stepmother Jeneal (White) Wilson; his nephew, Casey Sheets; his niece, Kelsey Sheets; and his extended family and friends.
