

Vera (Tidwell) Norton, was born in the home of her parents on 13 June 1925 in Solomonville, Arizona. She passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 while being treated at the Hospice Family Care in Casa Grande for Parkinson’s Disease and other complications.
She married Richard Norton on December 22, 1951. They lived most of their marriage life in Arizona, finally settling in Maricopa. They have lived in Maricopa for 32 years. Vera loved animals...cats, dogs, etc....and especially peacocks. Vera loved to write Poetry and even had one of her poems published. She did beautiful crewel embroidery work, crocheted, and made quilts. In her later years she began working on Fuzz art...and colored over a hundred of these pictures. She loved wearing hats and playing her harmonica...of which she owned 10. Vera loved young children and served many callings in the Primary organization and Cub Scouts. Vera always felt that her greatest achievement was her family.
Two of Vera’s children preceded her in death and were waiting for her: A daughter Sandy Wilson and a son Randall Norton. She is survived by her husband Richard Norton; her sons Bill Wilson and Richard Norton II; and her daughters Becky Lovell and Karen Blough. Vera also is survived by 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.
