

Virgiline (Virgie) Delia Johnson, 87, passed away August 6, 2011 in Casa Grande. She was born January 15, 1924 in Escanaba, Michigan to Jessie and Delia (LaPalm) Cartwright. She was a long-time resident od Casa Grande.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 pm, Saturday, August 27, 2011 at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church, 201 N. Picacho St. In Casa Grande. Immediately following the service at St. Anthony’s everyone is invited to attend a short prayer service followed by refreshments at Sonland Lutheran Church, 432 W. Ocotillo St., Casa Grande. Inurnment will be at Valley of the Sun Cemetery in Chandler at a later date.
Virgie enjoyed sewing, dancing, traveling and playing the fiddle. She was an excellent homemaker. Her first love in life was to take care of her family.
Virgie is survived by her husband of 24 years Roy O. Johnson; a daughter Lisa Deiter of Shady Point, OK; two step-sons Terry Johnson of Casa Grande and Rick Johnson of Aztec, NM; two step-daughters Cheryl Gruenwald of Grand Rapids, MI and Dawn Heber of Oracle, AZ; a brother Larry Cartwright of Green Bay, WI; a sister Genevieve Richard of Egg Harbor, WI; fourteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her first husband Floyd Deiter and her parents.
