Walt Barrett 83 of Chandler, Arizona, passed away February 3, 2012. He was born in Eldora, Iowa on December 15, 1928. He attended North Point Baptist Church in Chandler, AZ. Walt owned and operated Barrett Construction Company for 40 years. Walt was an avid pilot, hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors. He also loved motorcycles and racing cars. The most important thing in his life was his family. Walt is survived by his wife Shirley of Chandler, AZ., children Mike and his wife Julie, Carrie and her husband David, Randy of Arizona, Eddie and his wife Donna, Earnie and his wife Jodie of Texas, Dixie and her husband Tom of Washington, Paul of South Dakota, Tim and his wife Vicky of Colorado, 29 grandchildren, 49 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild, one brother Richard of Nevada. He was preceded in death by 4 grandchildren and 2 brothers. A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 1-8 p.m., at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, Chandler, AZ., with a Funeral Service on Wednesday, February 8, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. at Valley of the Sun Mortuary, Chandler, AZ., with burial to follow.
