Well said Wesley - your dad was a great man who loved God, his wife, and children - he was a great friend to all who knew him and always tried to help if he could especially at the college - God Bless you all, I know there is a void in your family with him gone, but you are blessed for having him touch your lives for the time he was here.

I JUST HEARD THE SAD NEWS ABOUT A FRIEND WHOM I WILL CHERISH, WE GO SO FAR BACK IN TIME IN A LITTLE TOWN CALL HARLAN,WE WENT TO A LITTLE CHURCH CALL MT. OLIVE BAPTIST, WE WERE ALSO AND THE CHURCH CHORE , ALTHOUGH IT'S BEEN YEARS SINCE I'VE SEEN SONNY IT ALL SEEM LIKE YESTERDAY, I DID'NT KNOW HIS WIFE, BUT I DID KNOW HIS BROTHER ROBERT JAMES AND A COUSIN WALTER NIXON, MY HEART ACHE JUST TO HEAR THIS HEART BREAKING NEWS ABOUT SUCH A WONDERFUL PERSON.TO HIS FAMILY MAY GOD EASE YOUR PAIN AND GIVE YOU THE STRENGT TO ENDURE THESE SAD TIMES.

I first met BJ when my husband and I were stationed at RAF Wethersfield, UK.  I knew he was very special the moment we met. I am going to miss his smile, laugh and and and.. his stories.  He used to tell me I would always be his buddy; that I would never be able to get rid of him if I tried. :) We have kept in touch and remained good friends all these years.  I love you and will miss you dearly, good buddy. I know you are still looking over me.  You will be in my heart forever.  

Audrey, I am so sorry more than words can say!  You are very lucky to have found such a wonderful man.  I know he touched everyone's heart and was loved by all that met him.

To the Johnson Family.  We were saddened to learn of Mr. Johnson;s family.  Everyone else knew him as BJ and we knew him as Sonny.  We have such fond memories of growing up with him in Harlan, Ky. You were fun to be around because you were always smiling or laughing. You were just a great guy and our bingo buddy. LOL. We left in '89'. And we kept in touch. You were even planing to visit this summer. You will be sadly missed, friend. We love you.

To the family of B.J., thank you for sharing such a heartfelt, kind, understanding and patient individual with us all.  BJ served his country and MCC well and both are significantly better because of his service and all that he did for both.  He will truly be missed. Please know that we are all praying for our precious Lord and Saviour to see you all through this time of BJ's passing.  BJ will be missed by all who were touched by his life. The first time I ever saw and met Mr. Johnson I was a very young man, but I can remember with clarity his poise and charm. His uniform was crisp and perfect, his brass brightly shining and his shoes looked like glass. After all these years that image sticks in my head. Sir, I am greatful for men like you and my father who proudly served our great country with pride and honor. You will be greatly missed by your family here on earth, but your new mission and service in our God's kingdom has only begun. May God bless and comfort your family during this time of mourning.
