William Eugene Kelton

William Eugene Kelton of Sun Lakes, Arizona passed away suddenly on October 14, 2021 at his home. Known to all as Gene, he was loved by his local community, as well as family and friends located across many states. Gene attended Lanett High School, located in his hometown of Lanett, Alabama and was class of 1960. Gene just recently attended his 60th high school reunion, as he had kept long life friends of whom he cherished. While attending Jacksonville State, he began his 50 year career with Holiday Inn IHG for the Arizona\New Mexico area. Receiving many accolades throughout his career, Gene spoke fondly of his time serving in this capacity.

Gene loved his family, loved his life living in Arizona, and always made sure he traveled home to spend precious time with Georgia and Tennessee family.

He is preceded in death by his father Jesse Franklin Kelton, mother Mary Kelton and his wife Nancy Lou Kelton. He is survived by his only daughter Debra Ann Kelton and husband Michael McPherson, his grandchildren Callie West and husband Scott West, Abram McPherson and wife Jasmine McPherson, Cara Bevin McPherson, Micah Ian McPherson and wife Sayaka McPherson, brother Billy Wayne Kelton and wife Ann Kelton, niece Kimberly Conaway and husband Clay Conaway, nephew David Kelton and wife Meredith Kelton, nephew Jon Teal Kelton and wife Sidney Ann Kelton, along with multiple great grandchildren, great nephews, and great nieces.

Gene remained in Sun Lakes for over 30 years for the love of his friends and community. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 21, 2021 From 11:00am to 3:00pm PCT at Valley of the Sun Mortuary in Chandler, Arizona.
