CHAPIN - Betty Lareau passed away Saturday, December 14, 2013. She was born April 13, 1936 in Whitman, WV. She was the daughter of the late Virginia Mikus and the late Robert Sperry. Betty was a very active leader at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church. She also cared for many young children of Chapin through her day care services.
She is survived by Paul, her husband, of 47 years; her two sons, Joe, of Leesburg, VA and Jon, of Milwaukee, WI; her sister, Barbara Hutto of Hanahan, SC and brother, Donnie Mikus of Chapmanville, WV and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. She was also loved by her four grandchildren, Kaitlynn, Jayson, Jonna and Jacob.
A viewing will be held on Friday, December 20, 2013 from 5-7 p.m. at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Chapin, SC. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, December 21 2013 at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to the American Cancer Society, www.cancer.org; as Betty was a cancer survivor herself. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
