Sallie R Anderson

CHAPIN - Sallie Rachael Shealy Anderson, 86, of Chapin passed away on Tuesday, June 17, 2014, surrounded by her family. She was born on May 4, 1928 to the late Heber Cline and Ellie Ruth Wessinger Shealy. She attended Chapin High School where she was a member of the Beta Club. She worked in several different sewing rooms including Her Majesty, also Mt. Vernon Mill and American Woven Products retiring at age 66. She enjoyed sewing, quilting and crocheting. Many items were donated to charity, family and friends.

Surviving is the love of her life, Barney J. Anderson to whom she was married for over 67 years; also, daughter, Rayleen Hollis; sons, Keith (Dottie) Anderson all of Chapin and J. E. (Jeanie) Anderson of Litle Mountain; grandchildren, Lisa (Billy) Campbell, Mark (Tammy) Hollis, Jessica (Woody) Cannon, Will (Amy) Anderson, Adam (Ashley) Anderson, Melanie (Alex) Lay; great-grandchildren, Ryan and Jonathan Campbell, Paige and Connor Hollis, Jill, Ben, and Owen Anderson, Sarah and Luke Anderson and Emmett Cannon. She was very proud of her family and enjoyed spending time with them. She was predeceased by her parents; brother, H. C. (Rosaline) Shealy; sister, Althea (Luther) Starnes and son-in-law, J. W. Hollis. She was a life time member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and loved her church family.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, in Newberry Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Pastor Dave Tholstrup for his prayers and visits during her declining years, Dr. Joey Evans for his loving care, Palmetto Hospice of Newberry and their caring staff, Claire Fleming, Doris Caughman and Annette Mack.
