Sally graduated from Oglethorpe University with a B.A. degree in education. She taught pre-school for 12 years and taught in Atlanta public schools for two years. Sally attended Chapin Baptist Church. She was a loving mother and friend.
She is survived by her sons, Peter Scott Butchart of Chapin, SC, Noel Thomas Butchart of Chapin, SC, and Robert Edward Butchart of Chapin, SC; her nieces, Pamela Walmsley of Dallas, GA, Kim Cromer of Murrayville, GA and Debora McCormick of Rocksmart, GA.
She is predeceased by her sister, Sue Reynolds Matthews; her son, Johnson Reynolds Butchart (Ruby Barley Butchart) of Conyers, GA; and her brother-in-law, Jimmy Matthews of Dallas, GA.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 20, 2023 at Chapin Baptist Church.
