Sharon Kay Ross

Sharon Kay Ross of Chapin, South Carolina took her journey to Heaven on Friday, April 28, 2023. Sharon was born to Willa (Seals) and Garland Hammonds in Middletown, Ohio on August 16, 1957 and resided in Somerset, Kentucky for most of her adult life.

Sharon was the brightest light in any room. She had a deep love for helping those less fortunate, people and animals alike. She was of the Christian faith and was a true example of someone with a servant's heart. After raising her daughter, Sharon devoted her extra time to animal rescue, adopting all the special needs cases herself so she could oversee care. She has a rescue resume that reached from Vermont to California, and so many animals have been placed in loving homes because she went the extra mile to ensure it happened.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her life partner (husband) of over 22 years, John J. Reed; her daughter, Amber Ross (Tyler Loveless) of Somerset, Kentucky; stepdaughter, Jen Molitor of Clarksville, Ohio; stepdaughter, Jessica (Rick) Willis of Prichard, West Virginia; stepson, Sean (and Michelle) Reed of Chapin, South Carolina; her grandchildren, Jillian Wren Merritt, Lyle and Ricky Willis, Edwin and Cecelia Molitor, Alexander and Lillian Reed; a forever stepdaughter, Dawn (and Jason) Kersting of Winamac, Indiana, and a special aunt, Ophelia (Feetsie) Fry.

She was preceded in death by a pack of eight wild wieners and host of other pups, who were undoubtedly waiting for her with wagging tails at Rainbow Bridge.

There will be a celebration of life to be announced at a later date for close friends and family.
