

Floyd Edward “Ed” Beaver, 89, of Charleston passed away January 6, 2015. Ed, the only child of the late Barbara Beaver, was born March 21, 1925 in the home of his grandparents, the late David & Addie Beaver.
Ed was a 1944 graduate of Elkview High School and received degrees from Morris Harvey College. He was a World War II veteran serving in the Army Air Force in the European theater. He retired from Union Carbide with over 37 years of service. He was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years. He was member of Masonic Lodge 135, the Scottish Rite and the Beni Kedem Shrine Temple. He also enjoyed activities with the Elkview High alumni and reunion groups.
Ed is survived by his wife of 61 years, Christine Moore Beaver. He is also survived by his son Dr. David and wife Amy and granddaughters Jill and Gwen Beaver, all of Charleston.
Visitation, at Bartlett Burdette Cox, will be Saturday, January 10 at noon with the service to follow at 2PM.
