Marian Elizabeth Dawson

Marian Elizabeth Dawson of Charleston, WV, daughter of the late Cecil and Margaret MacDonald, passed away peacefully at home on March 20, 2015 after a long illness. Marian is survived by her husband of 56 years, David Dawson of Charleston and her children Karen Dawson Sisser and husband Marc of Dunbar, Stephen Dawson and wife Janet of Vinton, Virginia and Teresa Dawson Einreinhofer of Charleston; grandchildren John Einreinhofer and Jessica Dawson, and sisters Marilyn Smith of East Lake, Ohio and Pauline Maderich of Wilmington, Delaware, and preceded in death by her brother, Cecil R. MacDonald of Moorehead City, North Carolina. Marian graduated from Stonewall Jackson High School and attended Morris Harvey College (University of Charleston). She was a member of the Basillica of the Co-Cathedral of Sacred Heart, Charleston. Marian took great enjoyment in being a devoted wife, mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by her family. Marian’s family is very grateful to Hospice staff for their care throughout her illness. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, March 25th at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral, Charleston. Burial will follow at Tyler Mountain Memorial Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made in memory of Marian to Hospice Care, 1606 Kanawha Blvd., Charleston, WV 25387.
