Adelia dela Cruz Fallar, 85, born November 20, 1940, in Manila, Philippines, passed away on May 19, 2026. Formerly of Manila, Philippines, Adelia made her home in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she built a life marked by service, learning, and steadfast devotion to faith, family, and community.
Adelia’s life was shaped by a deep commitment to education and the belief that knowledge should be shared generously. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree from Philippine Normal University in Manila and later completed her Master’s Degree in Education at The University of North Carolina Charlotte. In every season of her life, she carried the steady purpose of an educator—encouraging others, offering guidance, and leading with quiet confidence and integrity.
A devoted member of Our Lady of The Assumption Catholic Church in Charlotte, Adelia also gave her time and leadership to the wider Filipino American community. She was a two-time President and one of the founding members of the Filipino American Community of the Carolinas (FACC), served on the Board of Directors of the Filipino American Spirit (FAS), and remained connected through the Alumni Association of Philippine Normal University. Adelia found joy in gardening, cooking, traveling, and spending time with family and friends all over the world. Her love of travel expressed an open-minded curiosity and a sincere appreciation for people and places—an outlook captured in the words she cherished: “Do not let the fear of something different, keep you from the joy of something new.”
