Alberto Antonio Ponce

Mr. Ponce, age 90, of Charlotte, died Friday, December 11, 2015 at Novant Health Matthews Medical Center. Born October 31, 1925 in Trinidad, Cuba, he was the son of the late Francisco de Paula Ponce and Cira Maria Garcia Ponce. Mr. Ponce immigrated from Cuba to Charlotte in 1965. He retired as a chemical analyst of Admiration Hosiery Mills.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 16th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church. Private interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Tuesday at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service.

Survivors include children, Alberto Ponce, Jr. and his fiancee, Cathleen Smith of Concord and Cira E. Ponce of Charlotte; granddaughters, Jennifer Ponce and Carmen Ponce Wood; great grandchildren, Blake Ponce and Madison Nichols; nephews, O.P., Paul, Daniel and David Ponce; and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Ponce was preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Rosa O. Ponce, on May 30, 2013.
