Aline S. Killough

Mrs. Killough, age 97, of Charlotte passed away Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at Presbyterian Main.

She was born August 19, 1914 in Union County, North Carolina the daughter of the late Banks and Mary Stephens. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Edward W. Killough.

Mrs. Killough loved planting her vegetable garden and tending her flowers. She loved the rose garden at Aldersgate and frequently rolled her wheelchair out to enjoy each rose bush. She joined Kilgo United Methodist Church in 1954 and served the church in several capacities over the years. Aline was devoted to her family and cherished spending time with them.

Surviving are her daughters; Joyce Britt (Bobby) of Fort Myers, FL and Doris Beard (Doug) of Huntersville, NC; grandchildren, Robin Lynn of Fort Myers, FL, Cathy Edwards of Naples, FL, Cindy Hansen of Fort Myers, FL, Angie Holland of Fort Myers, FL, Jim Bunn, Oak Island, NC, Kelly Bunn of Cheshire, Conn. and Steve Bunn of Concord, NC; 16 great grandchildren, 5 great-great grandchildren; and three sisters, Frances Rogers of Matthews, NC, Gladys Culley of Monroe, NC and Ruby Bright of Gonzales, TX.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 AM on Saturday, June 23, 2012 at McEwen Funeral Service, 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
