Anne Craig Howell

Anne Howell , 75, of Charlotte, NC, passed away February 26, 2013, at the Levine and Dickson Hospice House in Southminster. She was born January 28, 1938, in Charlotte, the daughter of Neal McEwen Craig and Dora Allen. She is survived by her beloved husband Jon Russell Howell and children: Craig Russell Howell and wife Deborah; Debra Anne Howell; and Kenneth Wayne Howell and wife Geeda; grandchildren Rose Eleanor Searfoorce Howell and Abigail Riley Elle Morgan Howell. Together with her parents, she was predeceased by her brothers Neal McEwen Craig, Jr., William Allen Craig, James Edward Craig, Dougal Craig and Hazel Lee Craig. Mrs. Howell was a graduate of East Mecklenburg High School, and Woman's College, Greensboro (UNCG) with her degree in elementary education. She was a teacher in the Charlotte Mecklenburg School system for many years. A service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Sardis Presbyterian Church, where she was a lifelong member, 6100 Sardis Road, Charlotte, NC 28270. The family will receive friends at the Sardis Education Hall following the service. A private committal will be in the churchyard cemetery. Arrangements for the service for Mrs. Howell have been entrusted to McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park.
