

After growing up in Texas, her family moved to North Carolina. She graduated from Needham Broughton High School, Raleigh, NC in 1948, then graduated from Mars Hill Junior College in 1950. After college, Anne married and began her working career. She held several secretarial and executive secretarial positions in both Georgia and North Carolina. Her last position was Administrative Assistant to the principal of East Mecklenburg High School in Charlotte NC where she retired after more than a decade of service.
Anne was a devoted member of Providence Baptist Church since 1969. She served as the church Wedding Director for many years and was an active member of “The Sharing” Sunday School class. She felt the need to help others and was fortunate enough to go on two separate mission trips to Honduras and one to Germany with the church.
She loved spending time with her family, reading, cooking and playing card games. Spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren made her especially happy. Anne enjoyed going to the beach with both family and friends. Some of her happiest times were spent shelling on Oak Island. She also loved quiet time reading her bible and devotionals.
Anne was preceded in death by her husband, Frank E. Litaker, her parents, Garth and Mildred Lynn, her brother Woody Lynn, her sister and brother-in-law Jean and Jim Godwin, and her sisters and brothers-in-law, Doris and George Diehl and Carolyn and Perry Read.
She is survived by her three sons Wayne Litaker (Susan), Mike Litaker (Suzy), Garth Litaker (Marina), brothers and sisters-in-law, Diane Lynn, Van and Ann Litaker, Joe and Judy Litaker and Harry and Pat Litaker. She also had many nieces and nephews, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
Anne wanted to acknowledge her very special friends, “The Group”, who shared love, fun, tears and travel for over 40 years.
