
Art, as he liked to be known, was born on August 22, 1941, to Edward and Mildred Dellinger. He was a mountain man in every sense of the word and was proud of his roots.
He married Judy Elizabeth Meigs on October 25, 1969 and this year would have been their 54th anniversary. He was a dedicated husband and father who worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and their daughter, Amy.
As a child he was often the one taking apart equipment just to see how things worked. This led him into a lifelong love and career in radio engineering. He was known for his strong work ethic and dedication to providing for his family. During his career, he worked in radio at WAYS, WAPE, WRAL, and international radio, Voice of America.
He was preceeded in death by :his father and mother as well as his eldest sister, Cletis Lynch. Art is survived by his wife, Judy, daughter, Amy Dellinger Kirk, grandson, Campbell Kirk (wife, Rebekah) and Art's youngest sister, Miriam Lamb.
