Benton Vaughn Christley

Benton Vaughn Christley, aged 55, passed away on February 14, 2026. Born on May 10, 1970, in Wichita, Kansas, Benton spent most of his life in Charlotte, North Carolina. He was a cherished member of the community in Monroe, North Carolina, where he resided.

Benton was adventurous, brave, compassionate, devoted, hard-working, generous, humorous, loyal, kind-hearted, and cherished by all who knew him. He attended Olympic High School and maintained close relationships with his friends from school and his neighborhood throughout his life.

For over 30 years, Benton worked as an exterminator. He was known for his dedication and was highly valued by his boss and co-workers.

He was a loving husband to Debora for 18 years and a devoted father to their daughter, Avery. Benton was also a loving father to Garett, Austin (Rachel), Owen, Evan, and Sarah. Benton has one brother, Jason (Amber) and he is also survived by various aunts, uncles and cousins.

Benton was proceeded in death by his parents Louis and Gayle Christley and his sister Brenda Christley Walters.

In his personal life, Benton enjoyed trips to the beach, had a passion for cars, especially off-road vehicles, and loved range shooting.

The family expresses their gratitude to the staff at Novant Matthews for their compassionate care in the last weeks of Benton's life.

Visitation will be held on February 18, 2026, from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, located at 5716 Monroe Road, Charlotte, NC 28212. A committal service will follow from 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm at the same location.
