Betty Watts Guess, 92, of Charlotte died August 19, 2021 at Northlake House in Charlotte, NC. She was born October 22, 1928 to Henry Grady and Bertha Hargett Watts in White Store, NC and spent most of her life in the Oakdale Community of Charlotte.
Betty married Forest Guess July 26, 1952 and they were married for 50 years until his death. She was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Madeline Tyson Covenant Sunday School Class, and along with her husband served as caretakers of Pleasant Grove Memorial Park Cemetery. Betty worked for the American Trust Company for 15 years followed by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools at Pawtucket Elementary for 16 years. Betty possessed talents and passion for sewing, handicrafts, cooking, and family genealogy records.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents Henry Grady and Bertha Hargett Watts, husband Forest G. Guess, and brothers John, David, Bobby, Bill, and Carson. She is survived by daughter Crystal Guess Helbein, son Forest Glenn Guess, Jr., and grandchildren Erica Baker and Forest Glenn Guess III, sisters-in-law Betty Watts, Bobbie Watts, Ann Watts, and Judy Watts, and many nieces and nephews.
