A daughter of the late John Buford and Sara Mae Terry of Charlotte, Betty was a graduate of Tech High School. She retired as a clerk with the Mecklenburg County Tax Office. In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Hagler, and her two husbands, James C. McRae and Preston Roy Harrington.
She is survived by her son, Mike McRae and wife, Brenda; daughter, Terry Ertel and husband, Richard; four grandchildren and their spouses; and eleven great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 7:30 pm Sunday, at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Road in Charlotte. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am, Monday, January 2, at Sharon Memorial Park.
