Beverly Smith Moss

Born July 22, 1930 in Asheville, NC, Beverly was a daughter of the late James Matthew and Ethel Rickbeil Smith.

She was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church and enjoyed travel, reading, and service to others through charitable and philanthropic work. She was a 1950 graduate of Duke University.

She is survived by five children, Susan Moss Lang and her husband Jim of Chesapeake, VA, Janet Moss Wade of Portland, OR, Charles Andrew Moss, Jr. and his wife Karen of Raleigh, NC, Nancy Moss Dixon and her husband David of Mount Airy, NC, and Scott Matthew Moss and his wife Dana of Jersey City, NJ; seven grandchildren, Marissa Wade of Portland, OR, Andrew Harris (formerly of Mount Airy, NC) and his fiancée Kristen Long of Waxhaw, NC, Stephanie Moss of Raleigh, NC, Katelyn Admire of Tulsa, OK, Charlie Moss of Raleigh, NC, Sabrina Wade of Portland, OR, and Joseph Dixon of Mount Airy, NC; as well as her great-grandson, Mason Harris of Waxhaw, NC.

Also surviving are her brother and sister-in-law, Henry Dale and Betty Smith of Springfield, IL, and her sister-in-law, Julia Smith of Spartanburg, SC.

A brother, Jim Smith, preceded her in death.

A service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Moss will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 3rd at Sardis Presbyterian Church. Her family will receive friends at the church following the service.
