Blanche Byrum McAllister, age 85 of Charlotte and McLeanville, N. C. passed away Sunday, September 25, 2011 at The Haven at the Highlands. A graveside service will be at 11:00AM Wednesday at Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will gather at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home at 10:30AM Wednesday prior to the service.
Mrs. McAllister was born in Mecklenburg County November 30, 1925 daughter of the late F. W. and Sara Reeves Byrum. She was a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church in McLeansville where she sang in the Choir and was member of the Garden Club. She was a graduate of Paw Creek High School and retired from Bank of America.
Surviving are a sister, Gertie Collins of Mt. Holly, NC, brother, Dub Byrum of Stanley, NC and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Morris McAllister, brothers, Lewis Byrum and Pressley Byrum, sisters, Luella Stevens, Naomi Rushing, Viola Phillips and Hazelene Hudson.
