

Bobby Nash Fairfax, 70, died Sunday, October 21, 2012 at his residence. A native of Saint Pauls, NC, he was born on November 13, 1941 to the late Hayes Fairfax and Callie Beard Fairfax. Mr. Fairfax retired from Sealtest/Hunter Dairy and was a member of Devonshire Baptist Church for over forty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and pulling for the Ford teams in NASCAR. Mr. Fairfax will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandson.
A funeral to celebrate his life will be held at 1:00PM, Thursday, October 25th at the Derita Chapel of McEwen Funeral Service with the Rev. Gene Cole officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
Mr. Fairfax is survived by a son, Robert Fairfax, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Herring and husband Robbie, of Charlotte; a brother, Earl Fairfax and wife Lorene, of Surfside Beach, SC; two sisters, Joyce Dunbar, of Matthews, Wilma Coleman and husband Noah, of Virginia; two grandchildren, Kimberly Russell and husband Terry, of Crouse, NC, Michele King, of Gastonia, NC; great-grandson Terry Russell, III, of Crouse, NC and a step-granddaughter, Iris Melton, of Charlotte.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Devonshire Baptist Church, 6744 View Way Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215
