

On July 12, 2012 Bonnie D. Hunter made transition at her son’s home in Charlotte, NC. She was 77 beautiful years young. Bonnie was born in Whiteville, NC. Her parents moved to Philadelphia when she was a small child, where she lived for 56 years. She relocated to Charlotte in 1991 to start a new chapter in her life. Mrs. Hunter was truly a renaissance woman, excelling in many areas of her life. She was deeply devoted to her family, community, and career. She was a successful entrepreneur, a Sales Representative for several Fortune 500 companies, and an Executive Chef for Wachovia. Bonnie also worked as professional model and actress, appearing in photo shoots and TV commercials over the span of many years. Mrs. Hunter traveled to Israel several times, where she also did mission work for her church. In 1994-95 she was awarded “Volunteer of the Year” by Charlotte Arts and Science Today.
She is survived by her two sons, Gregg Hunter (Gagan) of Charlotte, NC and Jeffery Hunter of Fort Washington, Maryland; her daughter, Freeda Hunter of High Point, NC; and one brother, Richard George of Lumberton, NC. She is also survived by one granddaughter, Imani Hunter, and one great-grandson, as well as several relatives and close friends throughout the Carolinas, New Jersey, and the Philadelphia area.
Home coming services will be held at Central Church of God, 5301 Sardis Rd., Charlotte, NC 28270. The service will begin at 1 pm Monday, July 16th. Viewing will be held between the hours of 11 am-12:45 pm.
