Broadus Dean Cash

November 14, 2019. Dean was born in Chesnee, South Carolina on April 4, 1930. He

was the son of the late Edgar Lee Cash and Zadie Price Cash. The youngest of five

children, Dean was raised in Chesnee and graduated from Chesnee High School in

1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was stationed in

Germany during his tenure. He was a member and volunteer of the Charlotte Loyal

Order of the Moose for over fifty years. He worked for Duke Energy for 23 years,

and later at AME until his retirement. Dean was preceded in death by his sisters,

Alease Blanton, Jeanette Cash George, E.Z. Cothran, and Patsy Whitener. Those left

to cherish his memory are his wife, Carol Bennett Cash; devoted sons, Steve Cash of

Greensboro, NC and Jeffery Cash and wife Angie of High Point, NC; grandchildren

Amelia Cash, Jennifer and husband Shay Walters and Scott Cash; great-grandchildren,

Hudson and Hailey Grace Walters; devoted lifelong friend Harold Hill of Charlotte,

NC and several nieces and nephews. Dean was a devoted husband, father, brother

and friend to many. He loved the outdoors, working on projects in his workshop, and

enjoyed tending to his prized tomatoes. Dean will be deeply missed. There will be a

gathering of family and friends on Monday, November 18, at 11am followed by a

Celebration of Life service at 12pm at Forest Lawn West Chapel, 4601 Freedom

Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Hospice of

Charlotte Region, 7845 Little Ave, Charlotte, NC 28226 or St. Luke’s Lutheran

Church, 3200 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28209.
