Bruce B. Benfield Sr.

A native of Lenoir, NC, Mr. Benfield was born to the late Ira William Benfield and Nettie Brotherton Benfield on October 19, 1926. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and retired from Colonial Stores. Mr. Benfield was a member of the First Baptist Church of Clover in Clover, SC. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Benfield.

Mr. Benfield is survived by his wife, Mildred A. Benfield of Rock Hill; children, Gay Tilley, Bruce Benfield, Jr. and wife Maureen, Curtis Benfield all of Charlotte, Ron Stewart of Waxhaw, Sandy Valletta and husband John of Rock Hill, Ann McIntosh and husband Ed of Midland; brothers, Jim Benfield of Winston-Salem, Kern Benfield of Illinois; ten grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 11:00a.m., Saturday, June 6 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte with Rev. Dave Stanford officiating. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held 2:00p.m., Sunday, June 7 at the First Baptist Church of Clover.
