Burgin "Pete" Murray

Burgin “Pete” Murray of Charlotte, age 77, beloved husband of 41 years to Brenda (Lawson) Murray passed away on September 24, 2015. He was born in Rutherford County on August 16, 1938 to the late John Lee and Laura (Panther) Murray. Mr. Murray served in the US Navy and retired from the transportation industry in 2013 after co-owning the company with his wife for over 30 years.

Besides his wife Brenda, he is survived by his children; Timothy Love Murray and Rebecca Robbin Murray, both of Winter Haven, FL and Andrea Murray Pope(Jimmy) of Mount Holly; grandchildren Christopher S. Burns and Summer L. Swanger, both of Winter Haven, FL and Phillip E. Pope and Meghan B. Pope, both of Mount Holly, NC; brother John Lee Murray Jr.(Becky) of Kings Mountain, NC; sister Betty Murray Bowles of Grover, NC. ; great grandchild Sonny Swanger; mother and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs C.R. Lawson, brother-in-law Randy E. Lawson and sister- in-law Denesa Y. Lawson He was also survived by several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and uncles.

Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, September 29th, 11AM in the Paul Helton Chapel of Forest Lawn West, Charlotte. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
