Born February 20, 1928 in Canandaigua, NY, he was a son of the late Kenneth and Helen Boyle Middlebrook.
A veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, Carl served with the US Navy.
He was a member of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church and was Past-President of American Legion Post #345. Carl retired from Lucent Technologies which was formerly Western Electric and AT&T.
Survivors include his wife, Sara Banker Middlebrook; three sons, Alan Middlebrook (Sharon), Ronnie B. Middlebrook (Kathy) and Gary Middlebrook (Donna); a sister, Claire; 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
Friends may visit Wednesday, January 4, 2017 from 10 to 11 am at Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. Services are planned for 11:00 am at the funeral home.
Burial will take place in Forest Lawn West Cemetery.
