Carl was born May 29, 1931 in Detroit, Michigan to Olive and Clarence Mosack. He was preceded in death by his sister Clara Jane Pou. He attended Michigan State University, where he was a four year letterman and Captain of the golf team. He graduated with a B.A. in Business Administration in 1953. He then spent two years in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1956.
Carl began his professional career with Consolidated Brass Company working in various positions until becoming President in 1967. The company, now known as Conbraco Industries, grew under his leadership from $1 million in sales to over $180 million. He was directly responsible for the original launch of the Apollo Valve in 1968. The product catapulted the company from a specialized manufacturer to a world class market leader. While the competition was sourcing overseas, Carl was committed to supporting the American workforce keeping all manufacturing in the Carolinas as employment grew to over 1000 people. His philosophy of realizing his God given abilities, and having the knowledge to realize that he needed to acquire the very best people, made Conbraco the industry leader. He was inducted into the Pipe, Valves and Fittings Hall of Fame in 2002.
Carl’s passion was his company, but his true loves were his Lord, his family and golf. He was an active member of Carmel Country Club since the 1950’s and was a founding member of Secession Golf Club in Beaufort, SC. He supported various philanthropic organizations and was always dedicated to giving to society where needs truly existed.
He is survived by his loving wife Romelia Adams-Mosack; his children: Kathi Mosack Dantzler and husband Bill; Cal Mosack; Carole Mosack Lee and husband Chris; Glenn Mosack and wife Hollie.
