Carrie June Allen Todd

Mrs. Todd, age 89, of Charlotte, died Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her home. Born May 16, 1926 in Rutherford County, she was the daughter of the late James Jones Allen and Carrie Elizabeth Garren Allen. She graduated from Derita High School in 1943 and attended Florence McDonald Girls School. Mrs. Todd retired as secretary of Ranson Junior High School after 26 years of dedicated service. Mrs. Todd was a member of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church since 1939. She was a member of the 3 in 1 Circle of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church, Friendly Club of Sugaw Creek Presbyterian Church and Legion Auxiliary. Mrs. Todd enjoyed crocheting and was an avid reader.

The family will receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM Wednesday at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel. The service to celebrate the life of June Allen Todd will be held 11:30 AM Thursday at Cole Memorial United Methodist Church with Reverend Brian Braunschweiger and Reverend Patience Brumley, officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Burial Park at Philadelphia Presbyterian Church, Mint Hill.

Survivors include two children, John Connie Todd, II and wife, Pamela and Teresa June Todd; four grandchildren, Rebecca Todd Blake and husband, Leroy, Nathaniel Todd and wife, Dawn, Johanna Todd Smith and husband, Robert and Abigail Todd Cagle and husband, David; 11 great grandchildren; 3 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, Louella Allen Hefner. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Todd was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin M. Todd; and a brother, Thomas B. Allen, II.
