

Carrol was born in Athens, GA on January 30, 1928 to the late Heath Owen and Catherine Wilson Kennette. She was the first of four children.
After graduating from Ridley Park High School in Pennsylvania, she attended Maryville College in Maryville, TN, where she met her future husband, Philip. She transferred to James Madison College in Virginia to earn a degree in Library Science.
Carrol and Philip were married on September 8, 1951 in Plainfield, NJ. They moved to Charlotte and became active in the Myers Park Presbyterian Church for over 40 years. Carrol served both as a deacon and an elder, and for 40 years as the church librarian. She was also one the founding group that formed the columbarium on the church grounds. Carrol was also an active member at Carmel Country Club, and enjoyed golf. She enjoyed needlework and knitted all of her many sweaters and scarves.
Carrol in survived by her husband of 65 years, Phil; son, Kennette and daughter-in-law Kyle Fuller, grandson, Philip and granddaughter Rachel; son, Rankin and daughter-in-law Christina Long, granddaughters, Charlotte, Jenna, Cait and Hannah (Chris), and great-grandson, Caleb. She is also survived by her sister, Mary Catherine Cosby and husband William of Matthews.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, June 4th, at Myers Park Presbyterian Church, 2501 Oxford Place, Charlotte, NC 28207.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to be sent to the Myers Park Presbyterian Church General Fund.
