Cecil Smith

Cecil B. Smith, age 82 passed away March 25, 2012. A visitation will be from 5:00-7:00PM Wednesday evening at Life Builders Church of God, 730 Oakdale Road with a service to celebrate his life to begin at 7:00PM, Reverend Don Whichard officiating. Interment will be at 11:00AM Thursday at Sharon Memorial Park with Military Rites.

Mr. Smith was born in Iredell County, NC November 1, 1929 son of the late William C. and Ora Barnehart Smith. He was a retired printer, a member of Life Builders Church of God, had served on the Church Council, Day Care committee, served as a Sunday School Teacher and as Superintendent of Sunday School, Church Clerk and was a Lay Minister. He served in the US Army during the Korean War.

Daughter: Cecilia Smith Goodrum (Richard of Fairview, NC and a son, William L. Smith (Sharon) of Charlotte

Grandchildren: Lt. Caleb Goodrum (Nada) of Augusta, Ga., Mary Lisa Goodrum of Charlotte, Josiah Goodrum and Elijah Goodrum of Fairview, NC, Jennifer Shipman and Stephen Hance of Hendersonville, NC. and Becky Hance of Charlotte and a great grandchild, Hailey Shipman of Hendersonville, NC.
