Charles L. Thomas Jr., 85, of Fort Mill passed away peacefully on August 20. Charles was born in Mecklenburg County on December 12, 1928 to Charles L. and Mamie Nivens Thomas. He retired from A & P after a long career as a maintenance supervisor. Charles loved to garden and spend time fishing at his home on Lake Wateree.
Charles is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn; stepsons, Eddie and Jimmy Riffle; sister, Gladys Thomas; 3 nephews, Phillip Thomas, Chuck Thomas and Andy Thomas and his special dogs, Toby and Lady. Special thanks to his friend and caregiver, Paulette Brown, who could always make him smile.
A graveside service will be held at 11 am on Saturday August 23 at Flint Hill Baptist Church, 269 Flint Hill Rd., Ft. Mill.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in Charles’ memory to Mecklenburg County Humane Society, 2700 Toomey Ave, Charlotte, NC 28203
