Mr. Walters, age 85 of Indian Trail passed away Monday July 22 2013 at Hospice House of Union County. He was born in Charlotte on September 17, 1927 son of the late Herbert Lawrence and Ruby Russell Walters. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Larry Walters in 2003. Mr. Walters was a U. S. Navy veteran, an active member of Christ Covenant Church and his career was in sales and finance with many awards for outstanding leadership. The family will receive friends starting at 1:00 P.M. until 2:00 P. M. Friday July 26, 2013 at McEwen Funeral Service Charlotte Chapel 5716 Monroe Road Charlotte, NC 28212 with a service to follow at 2:00 P. M. in the funeral home chapel conducted by Reverend Bruce Creswell. Interment will follow at Sharon Memorial Park. Mr. Walters is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Lou Ellen Walters, son Frank Walters and wife Cindy of Indian Trail, daughter, Linda E. Golla and husband Jim of Greenville, SC, brother, Bob Walters of Lancaster, SC, sister Betty Taylor and husband John of Charlotte, seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
