Chip Day

Chip Day, aka. Edward Roy Day IV, 23, of Charlotte, passed away unexpectedly on June 14, 2011, in Conway SC. He had just completed his fourth year at Coastal Carolina and was majoring in communications and journalism. He was employed by Huffman Helicopters in Myrtle Beach, SC.

Chip was born on May 31, 1988 in Langhorne, PA. Shortly after his birth, his family made Charlotte their home. He graduated from South Meck High School in 2007 where he played football and lacrosse. He enjoyed the beach, boating, family and friends. Chip was known for his big heart, compassion for animals, and dedication to his friends. He especially enjoyed his role as being a big brother to Jordan, Ginny and Maddy.

He is survived by parents; Ed and Luanne Day, siblings; Jordan, and twin sisters Ginny and Maddy, all of Charlotte. Grandmother; Dr. Virginia Armstrong, Norfolk VA, Grandparents; Arnold and Louise Jordan, Rockingham, NC, Barbara Day, Naples, FL, Steve and Margie Dolson, Indianapolis, IN, Jim and Michele Day, Waxhaw, NC, Brian and Susan Jordan, Iron Station, NC, Dennis and Caroline (pre-deceased), Richmond, VA, Addison and Shaffer Day- Waxhaw, NC, Grier and Stephanie Carson- Chicago, IL, Glen and Miranda Carson- Fort Mill, SC, Holly and Darrin McClure- Indianapolis, IN, Christine Franklin- Iron Station, NC, Stefanie Beierschmitt and Eric Backer, Ashville, NC, Ridley and Denise Beierschmitt- Seattle, WA, Kelley and Aaron Marinette- Atlanta, GA, Cousins: Emerson, Sayla, Reese, Coltie, Ella and Jett. As well as his numerous friends whom he treasured.

His legacy leaves his extraordinary relationships with family and friends; nurtured by his caring spirit, humorous personality, and commitment to each individual.

A visitation will be held Thursday, June 16, 2011 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel 10500 Park Rd Charlotte, NC 28210. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 17, 2011 at 2:00pm at Providence Presbyterian Church 10140 Providence Church Ln. Charlotte, NC 28277. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
