Clara Sain Hahn

Clara Sain Hahn, 85, of Charlotte, died on April 29, 2017 at Novant Presbyterian Hospital. Clara was born on September 2, 1931 in Lincolnton, NC. Clara is joined in Heaven by her devoted husband of 52 years, Fred G. Hahn, Jr., their precious daughter, Debbie Carol Hahn and her sister, Joan Dover.

Clara, along with her husband, shared a long time hobby of growing camellias. Clara was an active member of Christ Lutheran Church and was involved in Sunday school, senior ministry and the women’s circle. She was also active in water aerobics at the Y. Clara enjoyed and cherished these friendships.

Most of all, Clara loved and cherished her family. She is survived by her daughters, Gail Hahn Foster (Dean) of Denver, NC, and Martha Hahn Hayes (Eric) of Charlotte; two grandchildren, Tracie Hayes and Wesley Hayes; three sisters, Edith Hege of Charlotte, Irene Schroeder of Homestead, FL and Lessy Pendleton of Lincolnton, NC.

A graveside service will be held at 9:30 am, Friday, May 5, at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte. A service to celebrate Clara’s life will be held at 11 am, Friday, May 5 at Christ Lutheran Church, Charlotte, with a reception immediately following the service at the church.
