Cloma Strawn Dooley

Ms. Dooley, age 101, of Charlotte, died Friday, March 14, 2014 at her home. Born September 5, 1912 in Union County, she was one of ten children born to the late Alvis Strawn and Mollie Jane Hill Strawn. In 1928, Ms. Dooley became a traveling sales lady with the Luzier’s Cosmetics Company. After 86 years, she was still active with the company. Ms. Dooley was a devoted Christian and a member of Central United Methodist Church. She lived by the motto, “love thy fellow man as thyself” and helped many, many people along their life’s journey.

The family will receive friends 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM Sunday at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service. The service to celebrate the life of Cloma Strawn Dooley will follow at 3:00 PM Sunday in the funeral home chapel with Reverend Michelle Chappell, officiating. Graveside service will be held 5:00 PM Sunday in Hamilton Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery - Marshville.

Survivors include many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Ms. Dooley was preceded in death by her only child, Cindy; and all nine of her siblings.
