Cody Maynard Tipps

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Son, Brother and Uncle, Cody Maynard Tipps.

Cody was a kind, funny, and endlessly generous person who touched the lives of all those who knew him.

Born on March 2, 1987 in Charlotte, North Carolina Cody grew up as the youngest and most adventurous child in the Tipps Family. From a young age, he showed a remarkable capacity for empathy and kindness, always eager to help others and brighten their day, with a quick wit and infectious laughter.

Cody is survived by his father and stepmother, Maynard and Mary Lou Tipps, his brother Burke Tipps, sisters Whitney Brasington, Meredith Heisner, Morgan Sykes, Coleton Tillett, as well as several nieces and nephews and his dog Frazier. Cody was preceded in death by his mother Babette Protz.

Cody attended Western Carolina University and the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Cody was an avid sports fan. He loved the Duke Blue Devils, and the Carolina Panthers. Cody enjoyed listening to ‘80s music and watching action movies.

Rest In Peace Cody. You will be forever Loved and never forgotten. Family and friends will gather to Celebrate Cody’s life Saturday April 1, at 3:00 pm at McEwen Funeral Service -Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC . A reception will follow immediately after the service.

Memorials can be made in Cody’s name to the Mecklenburg County Humane Society.
