Daisy Smith Alston

Daisy was born to the late Sam and Anna Smith on April 17, 1929 in Bemis, Arkansas. She spent happy days growing up there in this small community, graduating high school in 1947. Daisy later moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas where she met her future husband, Bob Alston. They were married on December 13, 1957 in Little Rock, Arkansas and just celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary. Daisy worked in several Charlotte-Mecklenburg schools before retiring in 1993. She was preceded in death by two sons, Roger and Doug; one sister and three brothers June, Edsel, Melvin and Frosty.

Daisy is survived by her husband Bob; children Mike Alston (Gayle), Donna Alston, Brenda Putnam (Vince); by sister Betty Brown; numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews

A memorial service for Daisy will be held Friday, January 3, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Mercy Baptist Church, 1010 Brief Rd W, Indian Trail, NC 28079.

The family would like to thank Daisy's caregivers from Right Touch and her hospice team: Nurse Lyndi, Social Worker Nadia and Chaplain Amanda.
