 I was little when Dave was our neighbor but I remember a caring person with a smile to warm hearts, may you rest peacefully. My heart and prayers go out to Dana, Karen and the rest of his family.

"My cousin Dave"
    Dave was the oldest of us three boys. Him, myself, and his brother Paul.  We looked up to him as we grew up and he was always good for giving us a good hard punch in the arm, just for fun, if he had a mind to.  Although Paul and I usually deserved it!
    Dave was a great salesman yet always saw that I got a "good deal" in such matters.
    Also, David was a much more caring person than he ever let on to be.  I loved David....and will miss him dearly.

As a contractor to Dave at Carolinas Health Care, I will never forget the first time I met him on the job site.  He displayed that feel of required authority and I knew right off the bat I would have to do my very best to keep him happy as a client.  I made some mistakes on my first project for him, but he worked with me through them, did not criticize and was understanding to my point of view and ultimately all things worked out in the end.  The "Client" was happy, but most importantly to me, Dave was happy- and seeing him happy kept me happy!  Over the years I got to know Dave very well through various other construction projects at the hospital and other opportunities.  Dave always said what he meant and meant what he said and people listened and responded to him with respect- that he deserved!  He was one of the most straight forward and realistic person I have ever worked for and I will miss him deeply and never forget the respect he deserved and what a committed person he was to Carolinas Health Care.  My deepest sympathies to the Bartlett Family.  Rest assured I personally will never forget his wisdom, his experience, his direction, his professionalism and his humor.  Most importantly, on behalf of myself and the DH Griffin Companies we will never forget Dave.

I will forever cherish the times our families spent together. Dave was second dad to me as you will forever be my sister. My heart breaks for you and mom. But if there is one thing I know for sure there are several angels in heaven watching over us and they are probably laughing, having a good time and drinking TAB as we speak.

It was such a honor to work with Dave for a short time before he left CHS.  He welcomed me onto his team with open arms.  He was so fun to work with and very predictable with a big heart and a great smile.  He was so kind.  I have lots of fond memories of him in that short amount of time.  He will be dearly missed.

Ladies everyday something will remind you of Big Dave...treasure those times, remember him as the strong man who helped you make it in this life. He will forever be with you.

Dave was a great friend as well as a customer of our company.  We always tried harder for Dave, because he was fair, forthright and "stand-up" in our business dealings.  We've missed him for some time, but at least his suffering is now over.  Our best to Dave's family.

It was my greatest honor to know Dave. We lived two houses away from each other when they lived in Wheeling.  He was like a father to my children as they were growing up as Dana was a daughter to me.  He will be missed but I will never forget him.  I send my love to his children and Karen.  I will keep close to my heart all the good times we had as neighbors and as good friends.  He will be missed. He is a peace and with the angels.
