David Anthony Pesta

David Pesta, 52 of Charlotte, NC, died Thursday, August 25th as a result of an accident. He was born in Charlotte, NC, June 25, 1959.

Dave was preceded in death by his father, Charles Pesta and brother, Scott Pesta. He is survived by his wife, Joni, and four sons: Michael, and wife Amanda of Belmont , NC, Christopher, Mason and Carter. He is also survived by his mother, Mrs. E. Charles (Deanne) Pesta of Concord, NC; sister Deborah P. Brown and husband Thomas of Concord,NC; brother Chris Pesta and wife Debbie of Oakboro, NC; sister Cinda P. Gendoes and husband Joseph of Concord, NC and many nieces and nephews.

Dave’s family was the most important thing to him, and he adored his boys with all his heart. As an arborist, he loved working with trees and was happiest being outside all day. Dave enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing and just spending time with his boys. He was a “MacGyver” and “Mr. Factoid”, and he enjoyed watching Jeopardy and the History and Discovery channels. He loved cooking together with Joni and enjoyed playing cards with friends. He will be remembered by his friends for his kindness, his big heart, and his gentle laughter.

A memorial service will be held at Sharon Presbyterian Church on Sharon Road on Tuesday, August 30, 2011 at 2:00 pm with a reception immediately following at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the following organizations that had meaning to Dave: The National Parks Conservation Association, The Charlotte YMCA, Sharon Presbyterian Church and the American Heart Association.
