Delores was born on July 27th, 1946 as the middle child of the late Mattie V. Yeargin and Willie Isaac Yeargin in Grey Court, SC. Delores was a Sander’s High School graduate Class of 1964. From there she transferred to the School of Engineering at NC A&T State University in Greensboro, NC where she received her Bachelor of Science in June 1969.
It was at NC A&T State University that she met her husband of 46 years, Jarvis Allen III. She was a faithful longtime member of Providence Baptist Church where she attended Sunday School regularly and volunteered her time to tutor youth. Her laugh was contagious and her dimpled smile could light up a room. She loved animals and the outdoors. She spent the last years of her life walking 5 to 10 miles a day and enjoying God’s beautiful creations. She was a breast cancer survivor and most recently lived with Alzheimer’s.
