With deep love and gratitude for a life beautifully lived, we announce the passing of a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She was a woman whose greatest joy came from her people she loved most. Dian Tucker Dean went to be with the Lord on April 13, 2026. She died peacefully in her sleep in Charlotte. She faced her battle with cancer with unwavering strength, deep faith and remarkable grace. Throughout her journey she remained a source of light and inspiration to all who knew her. She met each day with courage and a spirit that refused to be broken.
She is survived by her daughter, Dede Dean Foody and her husband Paul whom Dian loved as a son. She is also survived by her granddaughter, Morgan Foody Brookman (Carter) and her grandson, Luke D Foody and great granddaughters Collins and Millie Kate Brookman. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Adrian Dean. Her parents Clinton and Jessie Tucker and sisters Brenda Tucker Brown and Carol Tucker.
Dian was born in Sandy Ridge, NC where she graduated from Northwest Guilford High School. She began her professional journey as a beautician. Eager to grow and challenge herself, she transitioned into office work, where she found her true calling and built a successful and respected career.
Her talents and dedication ultimately led her to Gilbarco, Inc. where she worked for over 30 years. She served as a warranty manager and earned the admiration of colleagues and peers alike for her deep knowledge, fairness and steadfast commitment to excellence. She was known not only for her expertise, but for her integrity. She was someone who could always be counted on to do the right thing, even when it wasn’t the easiest path.
Dian and Adrian were avid golfers at The Cardinal Golf Club in Greensboro. They later retired to Pinehurst developing friendships at Pinehurst National and Forest Creek Golf Clubs. They loved to talk about the lasting and wonderful friendships they made through golf and the memorable stories they made on the golf course and off. Dian was also an avid reader. She loved to enjoy a wonderful afternoon on the porch reading a good book that she would share with her many other avid reader friends. Dian moved to Charlotte to the Brightmore Community and continued to build new, strong and lasting friendships that made her last few years vibrant and full of joy. During this time in Charlotte she enjoyed spoiling her two great granddaughters with all the toys and much love. Dian had many hobbies, but she loved spending time with her family and friends the most.
