Dixie Shoemaker Wright

Mrs. Dixie Shoemaker Wright, passed away January 4, 2018, at Complete Care in Charlotte, North Carolina. Mrs. Wright was born July 6, 1934 to G. Dean Shoemaker and Annie Shore Shoemaker in Jonesville, NC.

Mrs. Wright was predeceased by her parents, G. Dean and Annie Shoemaker; her husband, Jesse Wright; one son, Terry Wright and one brother, Jack Donald Shoemaker. She is survived by one daughter, Sandra Johnson Bryant (Barry) of Elkin, NC; one son, Scott Wright of Concord, NC; six grandchildren, Sonya (Danny) Draughon, Mitchell Atkinson (Zachary Barefoot), Jessica Wright (Scotti), Kaila Wright, Zachary Wright and Rebecca Wright; four great grandchildren, AlexSandria Draughon, Riley Draughon, Autumn Wright, Kaiden Atkinson and one grandson due in February; sister, Patricia Ireson; sisters-in-law, Patsy Shoemaker & Ganyelle Feree.

Mrs. Wright attended Jonesville High School. She was a member of the Jonesville Pentecostal Holiness Church all of her life. She retired from Allied-Signal, Charlotte, NC. She always enjoyed her work.

She loved to travel, especially Florida. She loved fast cars, pretty clothes and jewelry. She enjoyed family vacations at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where she spent all of her time spoiling her grandchildren. She loved to cook and her family enjoyed eating her delicious dishes, especially Peach Cobbler. She loved life and never let a minute get away.

Visitation will be held from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Forest Lawn West 4601 Freedom Dr. Charlotte, NC 28208 with a memorial service immediately following.
