Donna Marie Gardner

Donna Marie Gardner, 65, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on December 25, 2025. Born on May 11, 1960, Donna will be remembered for her loyal, kind-hearted, selfless, brave, resilient, and devoted spirit.

Donna attended ECPI, where she earned her associate’s degree. She dedicated more than 15 years of her professional life as a unit secretary at Presbyterian Hospital Charlotte. Her strong work ethic, compassion, and commitment to others left a lasting impact on both colleagues and patients.

Above all else, Donna’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her loving husband, Tim Gardner, with whom she shared over 40 years of companionship and 12 years of marriage. Together, they built a life rooted in love, devotion, and unwavering support.

Donna was a proud and devoted mother to Allyson Thomas (Greg), Lesley Ritch (Richard), and Timmy Gardner (Elizabeth). Her legacy lives on through her beloved grandchildren: Bryson, Caleb, and Maddox Thomas; Katelynn, Adam, and Tyler Ritch; and Aiden and Jacob Gardner, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

She is also survived by her siblings: brother Fairlan Miles (Judy), and sisters Vicky Harvell and Linda Strickland (Herb). Donna is also survived by her best friend, Maria Cruz (Larry), who was like family to her.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, December 28, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Back to Bethel Baptist Church, 3606 Sanford Lane, Monroe, NC 28110, officiated by Pastor Jeremy Johnson.

As a kidney recipient herself, and in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Donna’s honor to the National Kidney Foundation.
