Doris Davenport

Doris Moore (Jo) Davenport, 87, of Charlotte, passed away on October 25, 2013. Jo was born in Charlotte on March 27, 1926 to James and Ada Curlee Moore. She was a member of Steele Creek Presbyterian Church; a committed Christian with a strong faith. A graduate of Berryhill High School, Jo served as church secretary at Steele Creek Presbyterian for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Jo is predeceased by her loving husband of 64 years, Andrew “Wilson” Davenport. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia Davenport Byrum and husband Barry of Indian Trail, NC; grandson, Anthony (Crystal) Wilcox of Raleigh, NC; granddaughters, Michelle (Mark) Spence of Clearwater, FL and Brittany (Bill) Henning of Charlotte, NC and great-grandchildren, Lauren Wilcox of Charlotte, NC; Hunter Spence and Kennedy Spence of Clearwater, FL.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 29 at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am at Steele Creek Presbyterian Church, 7407 Steele Creek Rd., Charlotte, NC 28217.
